Lot Selection Event Took Place August 24, 2022

The initial Lot Selection Event took place Wednesday, August 24, 2022.  Sixteen eligible applicants had the opportunity to select their lot, and are in the process of finalizing their 99-year leases.  The remaining lots within the neighborhood are also now available for lease on a first-come, first-served basis.  Please contact CTUIR Department of Economic & Community Development at NixyaawiiNeighborhood@ctuir.org to learn more.

NCFS Land Lease Loan program application opens

Nixyáawii Community Financial Services is offering a new loan program to assist CTUIR Tribal members wanting to obtain a 99-year lease at the Nixyáawii Neighborhood, the Land Lease Loan. The Land Lease Loan will provide 90% of the Consideration fee for the lease and available even if you currently have a loan with NCFS.  

Loan application available on August 8th at www.nixyaawii-cdfi.org under Loan Services.

deposit window opened August 1 - 18

The Nixyáawii Neighborhood Marketing Team is excited to accept $1,000 deposits from interested applicants starting August 1.  Applicants who have completed an Eligibility Verification Form and submit their deposit will be invited to participate in the Lot Selection Event to begin selecting their lot.  If you are interested, please reach out to Leona Enright in DECD (NixyaawiiNeighborhood@ctuir.org) to get started or set up a time to submit your deposit.

Nixyáawii Neighborhood info sessions

July & august 2022

The Nixyáawii Neighborhood Marketing Team is holding a series of info sessions on July 13, July 27, and August 17, 2022.  All three sessions will be hybrid sessions, held in person in the Cayuse/Umatilla conference room at the Nixyáawii Governance Center located at 46411 Timíne Way, Pendleton, OR.  Click here to register for any of the info sessions!

Nixyáawii Neighborhood Infrastructure broke ground

february 2022

Rotschy Construction broke ground on the infrastructure construction for the new neighborhood.  The infrastructure will include the installation of utilities and the construction of streets, sidewalks, and a neighborhood park.  Due to delays with an abnormally wet spring, construction is anticipated to wrap up mid-October 2022.

Nixyáawii Neighborhood Open House

The Nixyáawii Neighborhood Marketing Team held a second Nixyáawii Neighborhood Open House.  Two sessions were held Tuesday, November 2, 2021.  A virtual session is planned for 2:00 p.m.  A second session is planned for 6:00 p.m. that evening, and will be held in the Umatilla/Cayuse conference room at the Nixyáawii Governance Center located at 46411 Timíne Way, Pendleton, OR.  Click here to register!

CTUIR Board of Trustees approves TRIBAL TRUST LAND RESIDENTIAL LEASE

The CTUIR Board of Trustees approved the 99-year residential Lease Agreement for the Nixyáawii Neighborhood with Resolution 21-097.  Contact us to see a copy of the Lease Agreement.

 

CTUIR Board of Trustees approves lease pricing & asda fee

september 27, 2021

The CTUIR Board of Trustees approved pricing and fees for the 99-year lease-lots at the Nixyáawii Neighborhood with Resolution 21-083.  Leases pricing will begin at $2.50 per square foot of lot size, and Annual Subdivision Fees will be set at $0.23 per square foot of lot size.

Nixyáawii Neighborhood Open House

september 8, 2021

The Nixyáawii Neighborhood Marketing Team held a second Nixyáawii Neighborhood Open House.  Two sessions were held Wednesday, September 8, 2021.  The virtual session at 2:00 p.m. had 5 people in attendance and the in-person saw more than 20 people turn out to learn about the Nixyáawii Neighborhood.  

Permitting begins for Nixyáawii Neighborhood Infrastructure

July 29, 2021

The CTUIR Tribal Planning Office received permit applications for review to start construction on the infrastructure for the Nixyáawii Neighborhood, including utility lines, roads, and sidewalks.  Initial construction was delayed due to contractor shortages and high material costs during the 2021 construction season.  Construction for the infrastructure is scheduled to start in early Spring 2022.

Nixyáawii Community financial services receives grant

Congratulations to Nixyáawii Community Financial Sservices on receiving a grant from the Spirit Mountain Community Fund to create a new loan program that will provide financing to help more people with the up-front cost of purchasing a lease-lot in the Nixyáawii Neighborhood.  Learn more about this opportunity by contacting Nixyáawii Community Financial Solutions.

Nixyáawii Neighborhood Virtual Open House

April 1, 2021

Two open house sessions were held Tuesday, April 1, 2021  CTUIR staff were joined by experts from partners such as the Nixyáawii Community Financial Solutions to provide information and answer questions from community members who were interested in learning more.  The events were held virtually due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.

CTUIR Board of Trustees Approves Nixáawii Subdivision & zoning designations

March 23, 2021

The CTUIR Board of Trustees and the Land Protection Planning Commission (LPPC) approved the Nixyáawii Subdivision plat to create the lots and layout for the new Nixyáawii Subdivision.  The final plat will be signed by CTUIR officials and sent to the BIA for review and recording.   The Board also approved a zone change designating 56 lots of the new subdivision for Neighborhood Residential zoning and eleven lots for Neighborhood Services.

New Zoning Designations Created for Nixyáawii Neighborhood

January 15, 2021

Following a recommendations from the Land Protection Planning Commission (LPPC), the CTUIR Board of Trustees approved changes to the CTUIR Land Development Code creating two new zoning designations within the Land Development Code.  The change created the Neighborhood Residential zone, which is intended for residential areas in the Mission Community area that promote safe, walkable neighborhoods and homes that face the street.  This change also established the Neighborhood Services designation, which creates space for small-scale, local businesses and services that are located within walking distance of residential areas.
